This is a story of a lovely lady, um hang on, that's the start of another lady's story. This is a diary about a not always lovely lady who sadly lives in a 70's home that has been decked out badly.

Do I start with the cruddy blue walls, the brown tiling, the lack of natural light....yeah it's a mess!

So enter me, the aforementioned lady, I'm Mel, and I'm on a mission to try and undo the wrongs of the past, the only problem is, for the most part, I have no idea what I'm doing.

Yes that's a drill to my head, and I'm thinking, "Where am I going with this?"

You see I have no grand master plan waiting to be executed, I'm no DIY expert, I'm just making it up as I go, and recording it for my kids, and anyone else who wants to come for the ride.

Feel free to make an opinion, I'm eager for some of the experts out there to chime in with a little help, and my feelings are not easily hurt. I'm happy to laugh at what I'm doing because let's face it, if you can't laugh at yourself, who can you laugh at.

So what can I do, I craft a little, I sew a little, I'm not afraid to wield a power tool (mainly aimed at my head, see above) but what I do best is dream - hopefully some of these can become a reality.

    Had to say "hi". Stumbled upon your blog. Saw your laundry room redo and when I saw the before pictures I said to myself "that looks like an Australian laundry room!!" So I poked around and found your profile and was delighted to see that you are from Melbourne!! My son, daughter in law and three grandchildren live in Oakleigh East.
